Pregnancy Highlights: I have hit the seeing my OB every week now milestone. I have also had contractions and all the other early signs of labor this last week. Which is great but not so comfortable.
How far along: 36 weeks
Size of baby: According to my appointment today he is weighing about 6 lbs 8 oz and is measuring at 37 weeks. In the picture above you can see his chubby, almost jowl like, cheeks and he had his foot (with toes spread out wide) up by his face. Doesn't sound comfortable to me.
Stretch Marks: Nothing new, I don't think I could get any new ones...Andrew gave me plenty.
Gender: BOY
Name: We finally have a name and it feels good. Naming him makes the fact that we are having a boy even more real. But we will not be spilling he beans on his name. We did tell the kids because they were all set on a name that we did not choose, we figured they needed time to adjust - and they now mostly accepting his name.
Movement: He very active later in the evening when I'm trying to sleep and pretty much anytime I sit now. He is also getting quite strong and you can see my belly moving or pieces of him poking quite far out. The kids like to guess which part they are seeing.
Exercise: I have been walking, going up and down stairs and just being up and about.
What I miss: I miss sleeping through the night and doing things without all the extra effort. Also I miss not having heartburn. It comes on every afternoon like clockwork. Also I miss having energy.
Cravings: Anything Italian, fruit, salads and LOTS and LOTS of carbs.
Aversions: Beef, mexican and anything BBQ - oh and anything greasy.
Best moment of the week: Going to the doctor and finding out I am 50% effaced and dilated to a 1. See, I knew things were happening. Also my weight has stayed consistent the last few weeks - that's pretty exciting. It means he is gaining and growing but not momma. :) The fact that I can't eat much right now and practically live off of cereal, yogurt and granola probably have a lot to do with it.
Looking forward to: Making it through these last few weeks until we can meet this little guy.
