37.5 Weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:  At my doctors appointment today we learned that I am 80% effaced and still sitting at 1.

How far along:  37.5 weeks

Size of baby:  According to my appointment today he is weighing about 7 lbs 8 oz and is measuring at 38.5 weeks.

Stretch Marks:  Nothing new, I don't think I could get any new ones...Andrew gave me plenty.

Gender:  BOY

Name:   We finally have a name and it feels good.  Naming him makes the fact that we are having a boy even more real.  But we will not be spilling he beans on his name. We did tell the kids because they were all set on a name that we did not choose, we figured they needed time to adjust - and they now mostly accepting his name.

Movement:  He very active later in the evening when I'm trying to sleep and that's about it.  He is also getting quite strong and you can see my belly moving or pieces of him poking quite far out.

Sleep:  Insomnia, nausea, indigestion and bathroom visits are annoying and make sleep almost impossible some nights.  Also I am waking up at 5 am every single day.

Exercise:   Not much 'extra' stuff going on here.  I'm just surviving through every day at this point.

What I miss:  I miss sleeping through the night and doing things without all the extra effort.  Also I miss not having heartburn. It comes on every afternoon like clockwork.  Also I miss having energy.

Cravings:  No cravings per say right now.  Just anything that will settle my stomach. I have been eating a lot of granola, bananas and egg sandwiches.

Aversions: Beef, mexican and anything BBQ - oh and anything greasy or spicy.

Best moment of the week:  Making it through another week.  I also decided I should at least pull out the bag I'm taking to the hospital...I don't have to pack it yet but pulling it out is a good idea - considering it was buried in the closet.

Looking forward to: Making it through another week.  My doctor stripped my membranes at this last appointment.  If labor is favorable it will help push things along if not it doesn't hurt anything.  So we shall see.  I could handle a 7 lb 8 oz baby.
