Well wouldn't you know it the concert got over early and Marc, Hannah and Benjamin were able to slip in to hear Rachel play - then they slipped out to get dinner. Funny how things like that work out.
Marc said the Christmas concert was hectic but good. Benjamin was in the front row, had a lot of fun and was busting out some sweet moves on the last song.
Rachel has been working hard on memorizing her song for the recital. Her teacher is one of the YW in our ward and we adore her to pieces. She has been a perfect fit for our Rachel. Both of them are very similar, especially when it comes to music and learning on the piano. Rachel has only been taking lessons since the spring but has excelled quite a bit. For the concert her teacher asked her what her favorite Christmas song was, then she searched high and low until she found it for her. They were both ecstatic and Rachel worked extra hard the last couple months memorizing it, learning how to use the pedals and getting the dynamics just right. In the end Rachel's nerves did get to her a little bit, but she didn't let that stop her. She continued right on and sounded great. We are so proud of our Rachel-roo and all of her hard work.
