Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve was a lot of fun this year.  We didn't have any snow so we couldn't do our 'planned' activities of sledding and snowman building so we decided to just take it easy - something we rarely get a chance to do.  We had no plans.  We were lazy, we played some Super Nintendo, read some stories, played, had a yummy dinner and opened up our Christmas eve present of new pajamas.  Christmas Eve also happens to be our neighbors birthday. They kids love him and his wife and their little dog Tank oh so much.  We love them too.  We love that they are totally ok with our kids hanging out with them while they do yard work or cleaning out their garage or petting their little dog tank.  So because it was his birthday the kids (mostly Rachel) decided to write and illustrate little book for him called: How the Anson kids saved Kit's birthday.  It was pretty awesome, like hilariously awesome.  After finishing the book/story they ran it over to him along with a card Hannah made.  Both of them loved it.

After dinner we opened up our Christmas pajamas swished the kiddos through the tub, watched a Christmas movie, read Luke 2, put our 'baby Jesus' aka baby doll in the cradle we filled with straw little by little this past month by doing nice things for each other, set out Santa's cookies and tucked them in bed.  By 8 all 4 of them were asleep.  After a melt down by Hannah who was terrified about the idea of Santa magically coming into our house while she was asleep.  The idea really unnerved her and she wanted to sleep in our bed.  But we were able to calm her down and she slept in her bed in the room she shares with her sister.  '

After everyone was asleep Santa made his appearance leaving lots of fun presents and goodies for us to find in the morning.
