Bright and early today Rachel and I headed to the Bountiful Temple for a stake primary activity. I volunteered to drive some cuties down in my van, stay to help and snap some photos for the primary. I am so glad I did, it was a such a special time with my Rachel-roo and so many other amazing children.
The activity was called "Walking the Covenant Path Together" and was for the senior primary.
We drove to a chapel that was 1.2 miles from the temple and walked together as a group toward the temple. We sang primary songs, chatted, and encouraged the children to keep going. Everyone was troopers, there was no complaining from anyone. During the beginning of the walk we couldn't see the temple at all because of the hill, but as we crested the top of the hill you could see the spire of the Temple encouraging you to keep going. The further you walked more and more of the Temple became visible.
When we reached the Temple grounds, we continued to sing primary songs, take pictures and the kiddos were able to jot down the thoughts and feelings they had as they walked to the Temple. Rachel said she loved the walk and that it was super easy because "I'm built for hiking mom." She also loved being on the grounds, being with friends and feeling the spirit.
I am so thankful to have been part of this experience with my daughter. To watch her grow and recognize spiritual moments for what they are.
