There was much fighting, contention and boredom in the house. All of the ideas I came up with for us to do, were met with eye rollings and many adamant "NO's!" So being the mother who needs to keep her sanity so that everyone stays alive, I made an executive decision. I checked the weather in SLC, told them to all get shoes on and get buckled in the van. I didn't tell them where we were going - even though they asked about a bazillion times - and we just drove.
We ended up at the Zoo.
The weather was perfect for a zoo adventure, the construction there was done, and all of the animals were back so I felt that paying the outrageous fee to walk around looking at animals was finally worth it. I'm seriously considering the idea of getting a family pass because we spent more than half of what a family pass would be . . . just in todays visit alone. YIKES!
The kids were ecstatic. They ran around like hooligans at the zoo. Andrew enjoyed his first visit to the zoo and may have gone a little crazy with excitement at the snake house. They rode the carousel AND the train. Andrew loved the train, it was a little scary how much he enjoyed that part.
And now that we are home? Well they are all playing quite happily together. No fights. When I asked then if they were exhausted at all from walking around the zoo all day; they all said "NO!" So while they run-a-muck before Marc gets home I am going to pass out on the couch.
