The Reading Medal

Can I just give a huge shout out to teachers?  They are amazing individuals who are able to help others bloom, help them develop talents they may not have known they had or otherwise didn't know they could develop, they encourage, they push, they support & they love.  (Among so many other things.)

Benjamin's Kindergarten teacher is no exception.  We LOVE her. And by love I mean ADORE her.

She is the BOMB.

She has been a perfect match for Benjamin.  She is so up beat, kind, sweet, firm and fun. Everything a teacher should be.  You can tell she loves her job as much as she says she does.  Since starting Kindergarten with her Benjamin's confidence has increased, he has become an even stronger critical thinker and much more independent.  Benjamin's test scores are rocketing and he is well above benchmark level (just like his older amazingly smart-strong-willed-stubborn-gotta-love-her sister Rachel.)

One goal his teacher set for each student is to read 63 books before the end of the year.  As of today Benjamin has reached that goal and was rewarded with a Reading Medal. He is the 4th in his class to do so and he did it before the end of the second term.  We are just so excited for him, but even more importantly he is excited and proud of himself.

He is learning to love reading - Yippeeee!

Not only is he excelling in reading but you should see some of the math stuff she has them doing.  Wowza!  Kids these days are definitely smarter.
