Benjamin really got into the St. Patricks thing this year. For days before he told me all about leprechauns and how you HAVE to set out a trap and IF you actually catch one he HAS to give you all of his gold. Well this boy of mine who is SO obsessed with money and all things gold and silver (as of late) decided that he was going to catch a leprechaun and get all of his gold.
Mind you he decided to make the trap AFTER it was lights out so I'm not sure the quality of the trap. But he did work on it and he worked hard on it and it took him an hour. I couldn't NOT do anything. It would be totally letting him down. So at 9 pm March 16th I brought a little magic to our home. We had green toilet water, green milk, a note written on the bathroom mirror, green foot prints on the toilet seat, a HUGE mess on the counter AND the LAST box of Lucky Charms cereal from the Smiths that Marc picked up on his way home from work. It just happened to have a huge dent in the top as well but no one noticed!
In the morning he was quite bummed that he didn't actually catch a leprechaun, in fact he was down right crabby. Claiming to that he NEVER got any sleep because he was up all night holding this trap and waiting. But he was appeased by the whole situation when he came upstairs and saw all of the stuff the leprechaun did. He said he is going to make a better trap next year and try again. What did this leprechaun get herself into?!
