13 Weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:  I continue to have more good nights than bad nights, though every afternoon I become utterly exhausted and absolutely HAVE to take a nap. We took a train ride this past weekend and it was really nice not to have to try to stay awake on the way home when it was late; even though I still HAD to stay awake to entertain 4 kiddos who were over tired.

How far along:  13 weeks

Size of baby:  About 3 inches long or the size of a pea pod - why do they compare the baby to food?  Anyway the babe weighs about an ounce and the fingerprints have developed.  How cool is that!?

Stretch Marks:  Nothing new.

Maternity clothes:   I started wearing them a few weeks ago mainly for the fact that they are more comfortable.  Some things are too big still so I'm kind of in that awkward stage where things are too big or too small.

Gender:  We are not finding out.  This baby will be the tie breaker for our family, and for grandchildren on all sides.  So we are keeping the gender a surprise until the wee one makes their appearance.

Name:   We have some picked out either way, but again are not sharing.

Movement:  Haven't felt anything yet, though Rachel is still convinced she felt the baby kick last week.

Sleep:  Still the same, it varies each night. Some nights I sleep well, some nights not well.  My doctor recommended Unisom, so I think I will be heading to the store to pick some up soon.

Exercise:   I'm up and about more so that should start balancing out the extra calories I'm consuming too.

What I miss:  Sleeping, having energy int eh afternoon and a having a healthy relationship with food.  There are still a few things that I try and quickly learn that they are all kinds of wrong.  I still can't handle anything too sweet or else I'm sick really fast.

Cravings:  Lets see cravings change on a daily basis.  This last week (on different days) I HAD to have a potato salad sandwich,  an egg sandwich, cinnamon rolls, and an apple.  I will say this eggs have been my one constant food I could eat.

Aversions:  The list is dwindling.  But so far beef and anything BBQ has remained at the top of the list.

Best moment of the week: The amazing egg sandwich Marc made me one night after eating some food that didn't agree with me!  I threw up (first time for the pregnant) after eating the nasty stuff (first time for the pregnancy), then had to eat something.  Marc made me the egg sandwich which I quickly inhaled and felt one thousand times better.

Looking forward to:  My next appointment in 2 weeks, feeling this little on move for the first time and Thanksgiving food.  Well honestly I'm a little nervous about Thanksgiving food.
