Character Day

Benjamins class earned a party today for good behavior.  They decided to dress up as their favorite book character as well as bring in the book to share with the class.  Last year if you remember his kindergarten class did the same thing and he decided to dress up as a grasshopper.  That was a fun costume to figure out and I thought for sure I wouldn't have to do ANYTHING like again.  Well I was wrong.

While we were looking through our books to find a favorite book and consequently a character that would be easy to dress up as; he kept changing his mind. First he wanted to be Obi One Kenobi, then a fly (yes one of those annoying insects that won't leave you along), then a snake, an eel, and finally a raccoon.  Yes a raccoon.  He has had this obsession with raccoons for a while now, he even has a 'pet' raccoon called Harry Tattoo.  Yes, you read that name right and that's him in the pictures above. ^  Maybe Benjamin loves raccoons so much because they are sneaky, resourceful and persistent....just like him.

So we got permission from the principal and teacher to do a face makeup mask and I found this awesome fake fur tail for $2.  Put it all together and what do you get?  A pretty awesome last minute raccoon costume for a son who loves raccoons.  I wonder what he'll want to be next time?
