Sledding

Today we celebrated the kiddos first day of Christmas break by checking out a new sledding hill.  They have been begging us to go sledding somewhere other than the home-made hill in front of the house; so we obliged.

Marc saw people sledding at the High School one day while he was out driving around - I mean working.  So we headed there.  After sledding for 1 1/2 hours we have concluded it was a pretty sweet hill and the kids are wondering when they can go again.

There were no major accidents; if you don't count the tree that Benjamin ran into and the 2 girls he took out - don't worry the girls are ok.
Everyone had a blast.
Andrew slept the entire time in the van.
I had fun taking pictures because my snow pants were too small (I guess that's what happens when the last time you wore them was 4 kids ago).
By the end Hannah was brave enough to go down all by herself.
Rachel was laughing non-stop.
And Marc felt like a kid again.

There is only one negative side effect I can think of from letting the kiddos experience a big sledding hill:  now they will think our home-made hill in front of the house is dinky.

Maybe we'll have to make it into a fort.....

You haven't worn your snow pants in 4 years?! I can't believe it! It's so much fun to play in the snow with the kids! I admit that I didn't do it every time, but I always played with them a couple times each winter. You gotta get you some new ones and go play!!
