So close!

We have been working SO hard on our basement and we are SO close and we are SO burned out and So exhausted.  We might be "SO" many things but we still have SO much more to do.  SO many little details that finish off everything and make it just right; it feels like the list is never ending.

But while we work on the little details and the last BIG detail we decided to move down into the family room and move the kiddos downstairs into their new rooms.  This would give us the space we so desperately need and let us empty out the garage so we can hopefully park in there before the snow sticks around for a while.

So without further ado, here is our amazing family/play room:

We LOVE LOVE LOVE it!  We have basically lived down in that room since we moved everything in.  The kids have loved having their toys back, I love having their toys back - and organized - and we all love the fact that we all have a place to sit on a couch now.  Before we were using only 1 couch.  1 couch for 6 people!!! Can you imagine how that went for 2 1/2 years?

We still have plenty to do in this room still, like attach the windowsills, build the built in shelves, caulk around the baseboards, finish up the homework station and finish decorating. But like I said before, we can totally live with it for now.

Here is the girls room:

Look at all of that space!!!!!!!!!!  The girls picked out the yellow color and helped me paint the 1 wall. I did the stripe later - by myself.

We still need to caulk around the baseboards, hang closet doors, install the windowsill, and put the shelving in the closet.

Here is the boys room:

Benjamin loves being in his room by himself for a while (we are keeping Andrew upstairs for a while longer) but he was okay with us setting up Andrews big-boy bed now.  I took this picture before it was set up, it looks a lot better now.

We still have to install the windowsill, hang closet doors, and install the closet shelves.

What you don't get the joy of seeing yet is the bathroom.  *sigh*

It is a mess.  We are not allowed to use it yet - we haven't passed inspection.  We still need to install the toilet, finish building the vanity, order and install the sink/counter-top and attach all of the hardware. They didn't have a stock vanity in the correct size so we could have special ordered one for an arm and a leg and an eyeball. We weren't willing to give up that much of ourselves so we decided to find 1 smaller stock cabinet then build on to the side of it to make it the correct size.  We are crossing or fingers that all goes according to our vision so we can use that amazing bathroom soon.

But for now, this is what we have done and yes - we LOVE it!!

Merry Christmas to us!!!!
