Christmas

Let me start off by saying Christmas doesn't stop coming just because you are sick, so we just made the best of it. Christmas even night we opened our new pajamas, read the Christmas story from the bible, put out our cookies, carrots and chocolate milk and shooed the kids to bed reminding them that Santa wouldn't come until they were asleep.

This year with Grandma visiting we had all 3 kids in the same room, so getting them to bed this year with SO much excitement in the air was, well more challenging.   Grandma went in to see if there were asleep and found Rachel and Benjamin still awake.  She peaked out their window saying I think I saw Santa.  So of course they all look out the window and sure enough - guess what Rachel saw.  Santa (red coat, boots, hat and all) walking into our neighbors house.  She was so thrilled she spent the next hour or so looking out the window watching for him to appear again.  Grandma came out and told us what happened.  Honestly we had a hard time believing her because she has been known to s t r e t c h the truth now and then. So once the kiddos were asleep - finally - we set out our gifts and went to bed.

The next morning Hannah came to our room and said "Daddy, Santa came!  Presents!! He ate cookies!! YAY!!"  Then ran off to the bedroom and promptly woke up Rachel and Benjamin who came out to this sight.

So then we asked Rachel about last night and what happened.  Sure enough, without prompting from Grandma she burst into full detail about what she saw.

She said she did see Santa.

Okay we believe you now Grandma.

I have a feeling this is a Christmas she and Benjamin will NEVER forget.
