The doctor said . . .

April 2, 2010

We decided to take the kids to my big ultrasound on the 2nd. They did really well and sat next to me on the bed the entire time watching the baby on the screen. The ultrasound tech was very nice about the entire thing and she seemed to get a real kick out of chatting with Rachel. Rachel pretty much talked her ear off the entire time. At one point Rachel said "I have a baby in my tummy too and it's named baby Chopper!" (from the Land Before Time) The tech thought that was hilarious and laughed out loud - but she was good enough to play a long too.

The baby, hence forth known as Hannah/she/her, was very cooperative and we were able to get a lot of good, clear pictures. She was very active, her placenta is in a good place, the umbilical cord looks good, her heart looks great beating away at 153 bpm and she waved to us and gave us all a high five.

At one point we watched Hannah stretch straight out. We literally watched as her spine was curved and then was fully extended, that was awesome to see because we were able to see all of her - from her head to her toes. She weighs about 12 oz and is still on track for the estimated due date of Aug 22 2010 (less than a week after Rachel's birthday).

After the appointment we headed to Payson for pedicures with Nicole and Amy then to Mom and Dads for Easter/conference weekend. After we put the kids to bed Marc and I went on a little date. First we went to the store and picked out an outfit for Hannah to wear on the way home from the hospital (pictured above). Then we drove up to the BYU creamery for some yummy ice-cream. It was fun to chat with out the kids around but found we mostly talked about the kids. ; )

Yeah a girl!!! Oh how I love baby girls! (I'm sure if I had a baby boy I would love him as well but you know us, girls are what we do best)

Congratualtions!!

I love the shot of the hand. Isn't it just amazing how much detail you can see while they are still in us? I am always amazed. I hope you have a blessed delivery and all the family does well.
