Pumpkin Patch Visit

Today when the kids got out of school I decided to take them by myself to pick out their pumpkins at the local nursery.  Every year they send out a flyer for a free hayride and pumpkins so of course we take advantage of that!  Well this year they also included food, face painting, balloon animals, picture opportunities and "guess the weight of a huge pumpkin".   I think with all of the new attractions more people took advantage of it. There were a LOT of people.  So when Marc texted to say he was on his way home for a little while I asked him to meet me at the nursery - thank goodness he did!  Last year we were in and out with in an hour, this year we were there 2 hours and still didn't do everything.  It's ok, lesson learned.  Next year we will give ourselves more time.

Our old Realtor was our tractor driver again.  It is fun to see him working there and to able to keep in touch.  As a side note he no longer works as a realtor, he just does what he loves now.  Working on computers for the nursery, and driving a tractor now and then.

The kiddos of course wanted to choose the BIGGEST pumpkins they could find. We told them they could choose whatever pumpkin they wanted but they would have to be able to carry it because we weren't going to.  There were no complaints, like I thought there would be, they all just said ok.  They picked out some nice looking pumpkins and did well carrying them.  Well, we did help Hannah a bit and of course we carried Andrews.

The hay ride was fun, dusty, but fun.  Andrew didn't care for it much though and cried the entire time there and back.  Maybe by next year he will actually enjoy it.  Now that we have 9 pumpkins, yes 9 - would have been more but we ate a few - we can decorate for fall.  So excited!
