Marc - No Yeast reaction              Liz - No reaction              Hannah - Positive Yeast reaction

And the results are in : Rachel Marc & I are in the clear.

Benjamin possibly had a huge reaction to the yeast or a major eczema "freak out" from the yeast/tape.  If it is a reaction to the yeast it could explain  his eczema, congestion, and wheeziness.  The allergist things if we put him on a yeast free diet as well it could clear up everything.

Hannah definitely had a positive reaction for bakers yeast.  My research, fight and intuition was all correct and worth it.

So now what's the plan, you ask?

Well the plan is to take both Benjamin and Hannah off all Bakers yeast.  A totally bakers yeast free diet. I need to figure out a different way to make bread (tortillas are good but nothing beats a piece of bread) and figure out how to make crackers.  My kids need snacks and crackers are their staple food.  They also love pretzels.  So if I could figure out a recipe for that too they would be in heaven.

After they are on the diet for a few months the allergist wants to re-scope Hannah to see if all the allergen has been eliminated from her colon.  Just to make sure there isn't anything else going on.

Next we re-patch both Benjamin and Hannah in 1-2 years to see if they (hopefully) have out grown this or if this is something maybe we will get to have "fun" with for a long, long time.

In many ways I feel very validated.  I knew there was something wrong. I knew her 'normal' was not 'normal'.  I know now that I am not crazy. I wasn't making all this up.  I feel that maybe by going through all of this I can contribute to science and to help out someone else who may be going through something similar. IT is not fun for parents or the kiddo and if I have some how helped the next person out, I AM SO HAPPY for that.

On the other hand I feel a burden.  This is going to be another big lifestyle change for our family. I also feel excited to learn a new way to bake/cook goodies for my family.  I still have so much to learn, which I am excited about, and slightly overwhelmed.

But we will make it through.  I am a fighter, not a quitter.

Wow, that is intense! So sorry you guys have to go through all that, but what a blessing to have such a wonderful allergist. When you make bread, do you ever sour your wheat first?
