The simple life

Sometimes I wonder if I was born in the wrong century or decade.

Lately I have been quite overwhelmed by things. By "things" I mean Facebook, the internet, the radio, T.V., movies, video games,  laptops, kindles, fun centers (you know the places you go to throw away a lot of money on silly games), cars, and stores just to name a few.

I am really annoyed by the fact that I can't enter a store without being bombarded with advertisement.  Whether it is music over the intercom, or T.V. screens flashing this or that, or even people pushing me to buy something that really I don't need. Because really, lets face it, how many sets of the "most amazing knives you will ever own" do you really need?

What has happened to the simple life?  The life where we were not constantly bombarded with things? You know the ones where the kids played marbles, colored, drew, read book, played piano, used their imagination, worked hard and where their siblings were their best friends?

I am trying to get it back. I yearn for it, desperately.
