Indoor "camping"

Today we made a tent with blankets and our dinning room table. I'm sure a lot of people have done this and they have probably done this a lot.  We haven't.

 I am a type "A" personality.
I like order.
I like cleanliness.
I like predictability.
Sorry, that's how I am.

So when I do something awesome like let go of my control and let the kids paint, play with play-doh/clay, cut paper into millions of tiny pieces, make a fort out of the couch cushions or a tent out of the dinning room table and blankets - it's a BIG deal.

I mean BIG deal.

Well every Thursday daddy is gone from very early to very late leaving me on my own with 4 very young, very fun, very exhausting energetic children.  And today I decided to 'let go' a little and have more fun. So we mad a tent and played in it all day long.  We 'slept' there, we told stories and had snacks in it.  We even left it up so it was available to play in after we got Rachel from school.  While I was making dinner the kids asked if we could have dinner in the 'tent'.  I swallowed my no and bravely said "YES!"

And we did.

ALL of us (including me).

I have to admit, it was kind of fun. The kids thought it was a blast and declared that I am the "BEST MOMMY IN THE WORLD!"  And that they want to eat under there every night but after a discussion we decided if we did that it wouldn't make it as special.  But I did promise them that we would certainly do it again.
