I went to the fabric store to get some material to make skirts for myself. While I was there Hannah had a melt down. She insisted that she needed this material as well. It happened to be on the clearance rack so I bought a yard. It cost me $1.79. I didn't know what I was going to do with it, all I knew is that it made her happy. Hannah on the other hand knew that I was going to make a dress for her.
She kept insisting that make a dress, and make it right away. So I spent some time on Pinterest and found this cute dress. Only problem is that the instructions were in Japanese. I don't speak or read or understand Japanese. Well except for a few phrases and being able to count to 10 and that is only because Marc taught me what he knows.
I really wanted to make this dress for her because I thought it was super cute and super unique. So I looked at the pattern on line, took some scrap material, and drew out a pattern on it. Then I cut it out, "dry" fitted it to Hannah and using my knowledge of sewing came up with the dress I found on Pinterest. I'm sure not everything on my dress is exactly like the original but it is pretty close.
I am proud of myself. I think I did an awesome job. But most importantly I made Hannah happy for $1.79.

You are a wonder woman. Maggie's been waiting for me to make an apron from her since before we moved to California! I just can't get motivated to sew these days. She's even made me a sticky note now to remind me. I'm trying to catch up on my blog first. : )
