Projects

After finding out we were having another girl, I decided that our previous infant car seat was a little too boyish (all blues and greys). The car seat itself is still in excellent condition so I didn't want to go out and buy a brand new one - instead I found a way to make a new cover for it. The only problem was the instructions I found on how to make one said you had to rip apart your old seat cover to make a pattern and in the end you wouldn't be able to use your original seat cover. I know that this is not our last child and I didn't want to be presented with the same problem next time, SO to make a long story short I figured out a way to make our original seat cover REVERSIBLE!! How cool is that?! So on one side is the 'girly' side and when you flip it around you have the 'boyish' side. It's not absolutely perfect, while doing it I figured out some things I would do differently but all in all I think it turned out great! And now I'm set for how ever many more children we have, boy or girl.
I even had some left over material to make a new 'girly' nursing shield. The one I had before was again more 'boyish,' which really would have worked just fine but since I had enough material I thought - why not. My next project: a blessing dress for Hannah. Everything is cut out and ready to go I just have to get sewing : )

Way to go Liz. Looks great. But won't the car seat be expired before #4? Regardless, it's ingenius and I think they should make every car seat cover reversible.
