Spring Fever

We have been having some warm days lately that just make you salivate for spring . . . yes I said salivate. I am so ready to get outdoors with the kids and do, well everything! We can't wait to camp, hike, swim, play, walk etc. I know it's coming soon enough but some days it's just NOT soon enough. Marc took a day off on Monday to spend some time with us and it just happened to be one of those beautiful days so we took advantage of the sunshine . . . regardless of the fact that we were sick. You need fresh air when you are sick right?
It was in the mid to upper 50's that day and we all ended up shedding our coats after a few minutes outside (how often can you say that in March!?). Marc decided to re-introduce Rachel to the bike we got her last year. First they did some bike peddling practice in the grass. I couldn't decide who looked sillier Marc or Rachel.

Then they got on the bike. Let's just say it's gonna take a while to get everything working together for her to ride it. We knew it would when we got her the bike, but maybe by the end of this summer. Regardless, Rachel had a blast being pushed around on the bike . . . Marc got a little worn out.
Here is a little video clip of her trying to ride the bike. Like I said it's gonna take a while. Tips anyone?
Benjamin was kind enough to remind us that we should probably have Rachel wear her helmet when he walked out of the garage wearing this.

And of course he just HAD to try his hand at riding the pink bike.

We also broke out the sidewalk chalk and now have our very first drawings of the year in the back yard. We also decided to break out the lawn furniture and set up the patio for the summer and all of our awesome BBQ's. Our first BBQ is already set up for this Friday, yep March 5. We will be eating inside but I can't wait! Of course now that we've set up of the lawn furniture it's going to snow again but we just couldn't wait. I guess that's what you get for being impatient.

Just keep practicing, and no matter what, you can't strangle her. If all else fails, tell her Ally can do it. ;)

Yay for sunshine and warmth! Your kids are adorable-- I love the video of Rachel getting back into the swing of riding a bike :) I know that will be Gwenn here in a few weeks! You have a very sweet family. How are you feeling?
