It's my PaRtY

My husband is such a stinker and I love him for it! He and my friends went behind my back to throw a surprise birthday party for me...and I was none the wiser!! He told me that on Tuesday night at 7:30 pm the Bishop wanted to visit with me. Well after I got a call from Marc saying that Bishop was ready for me I got to the church and saw this note, which reads: Liz, I had to go to the Relief Society Room. Please come over and meet me there. Bishop Mathews. Yes you read that right...the Bishop was in on it!! So I made my way to the RS room with Benjamin's shrieking the entire way because the acoustics are too great to pass up (he must have been in on it too because it gave everyone a wonderful warning that I was coming). I get to the door, lightly knock and open it to see my dear friends singing happy birthday to me!

There were the Stevens, the Gundersons, the Thomas', the Jensens, the Marriotts, The Skidmores, the Mehls and the Shurtleffs. So many wonderful friends and I love them all for being in on the secret! :)

I know, your not supposed to have lighted candles in the building...so shhhh.
We had some yummy carrot cake, corn salsa, cocoa-krispis, a pudding dessert that I can't remember the name of, and blackberries! YUMMO!!
Everyone had a blast visiting, the kids had a grand time running around and mushing food into the carpet...don't worry we got it out. And everyone was glowing with delight that they actually surprised ME for once.
My poor son went to the party looking like this. I hope he can forgive me one day. We are leaving for our trip in a couple days so I packed up all of the cute summer PJ's and this is what he was left with. A 2 sizes too small tank top and some weird underwear thing, that the stitches were coming out of by the end of the night. Sorry Benjamin! But the funniest part of the night was at the end. While we were cleaning up Rachel, Bryanna and Shayla had disappeared but we were not too worried, we knew we would find them. And we did... just not where we thought. We found them in the bathroom 'washing' the floor. Rachel came out with her pants rolled all the way up, Bryanna's knees were wet, and Shayla was just as wet as everyone else. After they told us they were washing the floor, I stopped and thought for a sec, 'how could they reach the sink...' So I walk in the bathroom and follow the wet trail to the ... TOILET! They were 'washing' the floor with TOILET water!!!! AHHHHHH!!! Well, I probably don't need to say it but, Rachel got a bath at 9:30 last night before going to bed.

Hey Liz,
I hope you got my message. I was set on coming until Brynn threw up all over me. Toby had 104 fever all week and we were leaving to Colorado the next day. I really hope you can forgive me and I hope it was so much fun. Surprise parties don't always turn out so I am so glad Marc was able to pull it together for you.
HAppy Birthday!
