Food....URG!

I know that every kid has a hard time adjusting to new food, but I just know that Benjamin is the toughest cookie of them all! For example:
1. He gave up nursing when he was 3 months old because he could get it faster from a bottle.
2. When we tried to switch him over to more solid foods he would fight us tooth and nails. Seriously...sometimes we would have to pry his mouth open to get even the slightest amount in.
3. Sometimes Marc and I would have to double-tag-team him. One person hold him down, and open his mouth while the other person tried to put food in.
4. He would scream the entire time! (Honestly, I probably would too if someone was doing what he had to do with him)
5. For a while there he would only eat pancakes and Bananas...without a fight!
6. When we try to just let him feed himself (you know, little chunks of food placed in front of him on the table) he takes all of the food and throws in on the floor or across the room (he has a pretty good arm, let me tell ya!)
Those are just some examples. There are plenty more...like now we are trying to break him of the bottle. He drinks everything else just fine from a cup, but once we put milk in it it suddenly becomes this weird, strange and aw full thing and he refuses to drink it. Once we poor it into his bottle he downs it in no time. I just don't get it!!
So this is what I've decided. To lessen the stress, screams, and fights at the dinner table I'm going to give him a plate or bowl of what we are eating (with the proper utensil) and let him go to town. Well, this morning was the first day in my 'experiment.' He had half a banana (what a surprise!), one piece of toast and then I gave him a bowl of cheerios (milk and all). And you know what happened!? He ate it all...no fighting...no screaming! He used the spoon very well for a 13 month old (at least I think so) and he was so happy and excited. Maybe I finally figured it out...at least lets hope. If you have any suggestions on how to transition him into drinking milk from a cup, I could certainly use them :)

My kids didn't to bottles, but when it was time to introduce milk in a sippy cup, they weren't interested in it...until I put in a little Hershey's syrup and then warmed it just a little. Chocolate milk is always a hit! After that they had not problem drinking plain old cold milk. Good luck!
