Going green

Since we moved into our house...3 years ago...I have wanted to paint a few, okay, several rooms. But with Marc in school house projects kind of took the back burner. Not any more!! Today we started the painting projects :) We started with the kids room since it is a smaller room and it would go a little faster and be easier. Um ya right! Partly because we have 2 adorable helpers and because, well painting just takes time. While I went on a walk with our mothers group (which I am in charge of) Marc went to the store to pick up supplies. There was only one problem...he got 12 in rollers and 9 in pans. We probably should have returned to the store and got the right size rollers but we didn't, we figured we could make it work, right? Well it worked, just not as well and before we paint any other rooms we will have to fix that problem.
You can see the lovely color on the walls before. It's not a bad color, it's just when all of the rooms upstairs are the same color it gets a little boring after a while. So after getting the room all prepped we set to work.
Benjamin slept for the majority of the painting (thank goodness!) but Rachel wanted to stay up for a little while and help us. So after lunch we painted the ceiling white and then we started on the walls. I gave Rachel a little foam paintbrush to 'help' us. This is like the one spot in the room that didn't need a second coat of paint. She did such a good job!
I know the color looks a little...scary, but it really isn't that bad. If you look closely Rachel's shirt is almost the exact same color of the walls. She loves it!
Marc just "loves" painting...can you tell?
Benjamin graced us with his presence after we finished their room and had started painting the bathroom downstairs. We had this brilliant idea to do an accent wall and the shelves in the bathroom in this same green. The green color looks darker down in the bathroom so it's almost like we have 2 different greens on the wall.
And here is the finished project. I think it turned out great! Rachel loves it and Benjamin even seemed excited about the change. The other rooms look so dull compared to this room now that we may end up painting more rooms than we anticipated.

It looks great. I love the color too. I hear ya about how "joyful" painting is. I think are plan of getting the main floor done this summer will be longer than that. It's just so much work.

Looks great. Our family room is about that color (Behr Grasscloth?) and Gunnar's room is even a brighter shad--but only part of it. I was worried it would be too bright, so the top half is white. It's fun.
