I love my husband!!

For Valentines day my sweet husband bought us tickets to see Rascall Flatts live in concert! Tonight was the concert, we just got back and yes I should probably be in bed but I'm still pumped from all of the excitement, so here I am blogging at 12:17 in the morning. Rascall Flatts is my all time favorite band and the concert turned out to be a blast!!!! Our seats weren't the best...we were in the nose bleeds of all nose bleeds section (upper level 3 rows from the back), but we sure had a lot of fun squishing Jessica Simpson between our fingers as she opened for them. Okay I should say that even though we are not fans of her she did sing some songs that we actually enjoyed. Even though the bands were small, we could still hear (and feel) the music JUST FINE! My ears are still ringing!!!
Rascall Flatts' entry was amazing! They came down on this huge lift just playing away and they sure do know how to entertain a crowd. If you like them and ever have the opportunity to see them, take the chance you won't be disappointed. At the end of the concert there were balloons that fell from the ceiling, confetti shooting out everywhere and little fire works going off. It was crazy to watch and I'm sure glad that we are not the ones cleaning up the arena!
Thank you sweetie for a super fun date, now lets not do a loud, crazy concert again for a while.

Two little monkeys drumming on drums

Here is somethig to ponder: You get your kids all of these WoNdErFuL toys to play with; but in the end what they have the most fun with is a bowl and wooden spoon or the box the toy came in! What's with that? A well...as long as they are HAPPY!

For Grandma

During dinner tonight we were talking about how we are going to go camping A LOT this summer and I mentioned that my mom bought Rachel a sleeping bag when she was out here. Well then of course I just had to get it out...well then Rachel just had to try it out. She loves it! And is so excited to use it that tonight we will probably let her sleep in it.

Last night when I was getting our Sunday stuff out I let Rachel choose the dress she wanted to wear and she picked out the dress My mom bought her. We paired it with her ruby red slippers and *Ta-Da* everyone thought she looked like Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz.
And last night we had a little snuggle time on the bean-bag...I just love snuggling with my little bug! I can't believe how big she has gotten, it seems like not that long ago she was a little baby and now she is a big girl doing so many big girl things.

Happy Valentines day!

For our very special Valentines day breakfast I made pink heart-shaped pancakes with chocolate chips. Marc and I topped ours with Raspberries and powder sugar...they were super yummy!
Benjamin enjoyed his first pancake even though it was pink. He enjoyed them so much he had TWO! What an eater...he's going to eat us out of house and home one day I just know it.
Rachel enjoyed hers too. Usually she wants me to cut up her pancakes but today she wouldn't allow it. She gobbled up the chocolate chips first, then dug (literally) into her pancake with her fork. Nothing like a 'wee bit of sugar' for breakfast right?

Nook Power

Last night I watched a friends little girl, Olivia, so her parents could go to a concert. They were going to be back late so we ended up having a little 'sleep-over'. After feeding the girls a yummy dinner, they played while I cleaned up, then I put on their Pajamas. We did puzzles and read books on my bed before going to bed. It was the perfect opportunity to take a picture. There is about one year difference between the 3 of them. Benjamin is 7 months, Olivia is 18 months and Rachel is 30 months old. It's fun to see what a year can do... And nooks were my best friend last night, especially when I put them to bed...ahh the power of a nook! (binkie, pacie whatever you want to call it) *Yes, if you remember Rachel was broken of the nook, but Marc and I caved one night, now it's back...we'll tackle that again after potty training is done. Who knows maybe she'll just give it up on her own.

Peek-A-Boo, I see you!

Rachel and Benjamin love to play peek-a-boo! It is so much fun to hear their squeal of laughter as they play with one another. (Yes that's the movie Land Before Time playing in the background...again)

Two big leaps for Rachel

1. Potty training is going great! She is now aware when she is going potty and has on a few occasions told us BEFORE she had to go potty so we could make it to the bathroom on time. GO RACHEL!!

2. She used to be TERRIFIED of the vacuum right from the beginning. I remember when she was infant I would have to hold her while she screamed the entire time I vacuumed. As a young toddler she would take her comfort items and sit on my bed crying while I vacuumed. As an older toddler she would walk around holding her comfort items watching me vacuum. And now? She helps me vacuum with the REAL one and it's turned on! Can I hear a woot, woot?!!

Opthalmologist update

This morning we went in for Benjamin's follow up appointment with the opthalmologist. After once again looking at his eye he determined that the benign cyst (which is attached to the eye socket) is not growing fast so we are going to watch it for the next four months (until our next appointment) and then we would set a surgery date. He said he doesn't like to do this kind of surgery on kids under a year (THANK YOU!), so unless his eye gets red and stays swollen we would do the surgery when he turns one. I asked what the surgery would involve and he said he would put him under, they would cut the eye lid over the cyst, remove it, and use stitches to close it up. SO SAD! I'm glad that we will wait until he is a little older but it's still scary to think that my little baby is going to need such invasive surgery already!! Even with this problem he is still a super happy kid!

Swing'n in the Snow

Today was such a beautiful day we decided to head outdoors for a little while despite the inversion. We had a clear path to the swing set so naturally we went there first. Hasn't she gotten SO BIG?! She is on the big kid swing and even tried to pump.
I added this one in because of the drool, look at the size of that sucker!!
Rachel loved pushing her brother. She did a very good job at not pushing him too high or hard. These two are going to have a ball this summer!

After swinging for a while, Rachel went down the slide a few times, went on the 'up and down see-saw' and then enjoyed making snow balls and throwing them at the fence.

Benjamin enjoyed the swing A LOT! He was giggling up a storm, this is the best clip I got.
