Firsts and Un-wanted seconds

Firsts: Rachel had an awesome sleep over party with her cousins. After a super yummy treat of popcorn and cookies while watching...Blue's Clues, the kids zonked out. With a little encouragement from the daddy's of course. This was Rachel's first sleep over and she did great!! So great in fact that we will have to have more cousin sleep overs.

On the way home and to church it snowed. This is what Rachel had to say about it.

Un-wanted Seconds: I will let you take it in first...

We came home from church to this. A huge limb from our neighbors tree crashed down because of the snow, hitting our fence and knocking out their power. But instead of griping about it, like I really-really-really want to, I'm going to write a grateful and positive post.

1. I'm grateful that only one section of the fence was knocked down.

2. I'm grateful that it missed our new tree we just planted.

3. That we have power and heat.

4. It didn't take out our phone line too.

5. That our neighbors to the south who have been sooooo good to us, came over and cut down the rest of the tree that was still on fence for us while we were at church.

6. I'm grateful that we no longer have to worry about when that limb will come down.

7. We have the knowledge of how to put up a fence. So this patch job should go quick.

8. A husband who has this weekend off so we can fix it soon.

9. Okay so maybe I'll just say one negative thing about it....we really don't want to have to do this!! But we have no choice :)

I love this post! Rachel is so cute, sometimes I wish I could turn off the snow too! Although I have never been able to come up with such a vivid statement.

In Sacrament Meeting today we had some wonderful talks on gratitude and having a possitive attitue. So it is refreshing to read your "possitive" outlook when something unexpected has happened. Life is so much what we make of it. It is really up to us if we find joy or misery. Anyhow, thanks for your example. Liz you seem like such a wonderful person I know that we would be quick friend if we lived close to each other. I am so happy that you and Marc found each other!

YUCK! Way to stay positive. Fences are way to much work and it is so nice to have it done, then having to fix it. . . I am so sorry! I wish I could just turn off the snow.

Aaaawwww! Your poor fence! You guys worked so hard on it! I love the video with Rachel. She's a smart girl. It's so great when they get old enough to do things like sleepovers! It makes me remember having fun with my cousins when I was a kid.

Okay, quick answer to your question about font: go to edit HTML and scroll down to where it says under variable definitions "variable name="bodyfont" description blah blah blah type:"font" default="normal normal 100%(insert new font here), Serif" value=normal normal 94% (insert new font here), Serif"
Hopefully that makes sense...
Make sure you choose a font that's common because if it's not on other people's computers, they won't see it. I went to word and played around until I found a pretty common one that I liked. Good luck! Let me know if it works.

I am SO SORRY about your fence. I know how hard you worked on it. It just makes me sick to think about it. Good for you to focus on the positive. The tree missed your tree and your swing set. We loved the cousin sleepover too and can't wait for the next one! Good luck mendin' your fence.
